How Jana makes an impact as a recruiter at Rogers
14 November 2022Jana Van de Velde has been working as a project consultant at TriHD since May. The range of tasks on her first project has been greatly expanded in such a short period. Jana: "I find it important as a consultant to take initiative and get to know the colleagues at the client in a short period of time in order to provide added value."
After earning her Master's degree in Business Psychology, Jana worked in a selection firm for just over a year. Then she worked in an IT company in a generalist HR position. "Even there, I started feeling a little unfulfilled after some time. As a consultant at TriHD, my ambition is to use my experience with different clients and get a taste of various projects. I can fully identify with TriHD's philosophy and want to help make my mark on TriHD's growth through my personal growth path."
A growing role
For several months now, Jana has been working at Rogers, a company that develops and produces innovative specialty materials and components that enable technology in a wide array of high-growth markets.
“Upon completion of my project at Rogers, I hope to have made a lasting impact in the recruitment and selection and onboarding process of new employees.”

At the start, the focus was on recruitment for the job openings in finance, sales, customer service, engineering, IT... Meanwhile, Jana is responsible for the recruitment & selection procedure from A to Z: from intake with the hiring manager over the search and selection of the right candidate to the salary proposals and handling the contract signing.
Jana also took the initiative to go one step further and refine the onboarding process. "The importance of the onboarding process cannot be underestimated in the employee engagement of new employees. When my project is completed, I want the colleagues in HR to be able to fall back on a complete onboarding manual. I am also working on an onboarding brochure for the starters so they can easily find all the info they need at startup."
Taking initiative and gaining confidence
"Although not well known to the general public, Rogers is a really nice company to work for. It is an international company headquartered in the United States. This international environment makes it extra interesting and challenging, while at the same time there is also a very warm atmosphere among the colleagues in Belgium. I have a very nice collaboration with HR Manager Lisa Pectoor and the other HR team members at Rogers. Shortly after I started on the project, I took on a lot of tasks during the summer vacation. Since that went very smoothly, that set of tasks remained even after the summer vacation and I was given the confidence to spot opportunities and take on new tasks myself, such as the onboarding procedure or a project on sports and exercise at work. This allows me to really add value as a consultant."
“Jana’s experience within different HR domains, combined with a proactive approach of taking on other tasks in addition to the initial scope of the project, represents real added value for us.”

Lisa Pectoor confirms: “Jana got settled in quickly and immediately interacted well with several hiring managers and the rest of the HR team. As a result, she was soon able to achieve results. Her experience within different HR domains, combined with a proactive approach of taking on other tasks in addition to the initial scope of the project, represents real added value for us.”
Growing together with TriHD
Jana: "I am very happy to have ended up at Rogers as my first project for TriHD. TriHD is still growing and this is where I see an opportunity to leave my own mark and grow with the company.
“TriHD has an extensive training program which allows me to further develop my skills and offer the customer even better solutions.”

I also have very regular contact with my fellow consultants at TriHD and find these contacts very valuable for exchanging experiences. If I have questions or just want to tune in about best practices, I can always get in touch with someone. TriHD also has an extensive training program which allows me to further develop my skills and offer the customer even better solutions. Upon completion of my project at Rogers, I hope to have made a lasting impact in the recruitment and selection and onboarding process of new employees."
