Two years ago, Jana decided to make the switch from a permanent role as HR Business Partner to a job as HD Project Consultant. Just as many projects later, she is still very content with that decision: “This job offers a lot of learning opportunities. The variety of business contexts and project content keep it exciting. At the same time, the projects last long enough to really make a difference to the client.”
- Dynamic role of an HR Business Partner: Jana enjoys the blend of strategic thinking and direct employee engagement, thriving on diverse projects and stakeholder collaboration.
- Making ambitions come true: Jana aims to broaden her HR skills, mentor colleagues, and eventually become an HR Manager or Project Manager, with TriHD's support.
- Development Support: TriHD provides a Personal Development Academy and tailored growth plans, fostering personal and professional development.
“Working with people has always been my passion, hence my study background in Personnel Management and Industrial Psychology. A role as an HR Business Partner offers the ideal combination between working 'on the field' with long-term strategic thinking. Working on projects that benefit employees and collaborating with various stakeholders within the organization energizes me.”
Ambition to strengthen and pass on expertise
In the short term, Jana aims to further broaden her skills as an HR Business Partner, both in soft and hard HR. “I look forward to passing on my knowledge and experience as a mentor to less experienced colleagues. My ultimate ambition is to take on a role as an HR Manager or HR Project Manager. TriHD supports me in my growth towards those ambitions, with opportunities to work on the right projects and thanks to a comprehensive support framework.”

TriHD’s Personal Development Academy enables me to reflect on where I stand, what my ambitions are and how to make them happen.
Personal and professional development
As a TriHD Project Consultant, you are challenged to actively pursue your personal and professional development, thanks to a combination of formal development dialogues and informal follow-up moments. “Starting from those insights, and together with the internal BaseCamp team, you will map out your development plan. This plan typically includes a combination of formal training with on-the-job learning or mentoring during projects.” In addition, to provide extra support for consultants to reflect on their growth trajectory, TriHD developed a Personal Development Academy. “This enables me to be challenged even more and reflect on where I stand, what my ambitions are and how to make them happen.”
As a consultant you get double the fun in terms of colleagues, building strong relationships with both fellow consultants and the client’s team.
Selecting the “right” projects that fit the growth path is key here. It’s always the result of close consultation between the consultant, Business Manager and Care Manager. “Projects are not just assigned based on availability. The match with yourself as an individual is paramount. At the same time, it requires a certain flexibility and sense of entrepreneurship being a consultant. I am convinced that you yourself can uncover a lot of growth opportunities in a project by diving into the client's challenges and looking beyond the initial project scope.”

Working as an HR Consultant
Being a consultant requires the ability to adapt to different work environments and tasks. “Therefore, this may not be the right choice for everyone, but it definitely is for me: variety, flexibility, lots of challenges and ditto learning opportunities. And last but not least, I can count on great colleagues, both when I have a work-related question and for fun. As a consultant, by the way, you get double the fun from working together: not only do you build a strong bond with fellow consultants, at the same time you also become a full member of the team at the client. I couldn’t miss being a consultant anymore.”
Jana has a Master’s degree in Personnel Management and Industrial Psychology. Before joining TriHD, she worked as a Recruiter and HR Business Partner. Professionally, she is passionate about all things related to HR and employment. On a personal level, she is a dog lover and hockey fanatic: as a player, coach and board member in her field hockey club.
